The evolution of Badbrew

Christmas 1995. A present waited for me under the tree. Little did I know it was a present that would change my life...

I've always enjoyed a good cold beer. Prior to that Christmas, I thought I was a "real beer drinker". Bud, Bud Light, Miller, Miller Lite - you know - light and refreshing. A dark beer was rarely in the fridge. And heck - the idea of actually making beer was never thought of.

But that Christmas, a Mr Beer Kit was waiting to be opened - a gift from my wife. It was a gift that turned into a fascination of the making of beer and an appreciation of the vast beers available to be consumed.

The first beer brewed from this kit was surprisingly palatable. It was an Amber brew carbonated and enhanced with table sugar (yikes). It took a little bit of work to make, but it tasted good! I knew I needed to buy a refill for my kit - and I knew I needed to brew some more...

... That was the beginning. Badbrew Brewing Company is now an all-grain 10-Gallon Brewery utilizing a custom built Recirculating Infusion Mash (RIMS) system with automated mash temperature control. A frequent brewing schedule assures plenty of Badbrew is available on tap and for whatever excuse for an event to drink beer!
